ERP Training, Career and Course in India

For the successful operations of an ERP system it is very important that the employees who use the system must be trained properly. Training should not be confined only the initiall training but there is a need for continuous training programs and refresher courses for the ERP success.

In every organization there will be occasional new recruitments of employees and these employees should be properly trained in the basics of ERP and how to use the ERP system before they can be allotted to different departments. So there must be an induction, orientation and training program that is conducted on a regular basis.

Mainly the ERP training strategy has two objectives – the transfer of knowledge from the vendor’s personnel and external consultants to the organization’s key personnel and the dissemination of this knowledge through the organization. More precisely, the learning objectives establish what the learner should be able to do as a result of the training. Knowledge may be sought, particularly if related to operational best practices.

An ERP training strategy can be developed defining the ERP training policy and outlining the training program. Each steam will be identified and outlined in terms of the above stages. The strategy will provide an overview of the training objectives, identifying the people involved, the different streams and the content of each steam, organized into courses and sessions.

In many cases while organizations spend whopping amounts on ERP software and its implementation, training of employees who are assigned to run the system is getting neglected or not provided adequately. This act amounts to improper handling of the ERP system which ultimately results in sub-optimal performance of the system or in some cases failed implementations.

eresource Academy has developed program dedicated to training users in every aspect of the Integrated ERP software system. Its exclusive ERP training course gives an opportunity to the users of ERP systems and other IT professionals to get acquainted with ERP software. This course caters to the vocational needs of the students and is concurrent with the software engineering and technology syllabus covered by the major universities.

ERP Training, Career and Course in Mumbai

ERP training is very important not only to improve the business process, but also it helps eliminating any fear that the employees may have due to the changing work environment. What everyone must realize is that change is happening faster that most people care to think about. While everyone accepts that change is a must most people do not want change to happen. An appropriate guidance and training must be provided to the staff to overcome any mental fear that has been cropped up due to the changes has taken place with the ERP implementation in their work place also in their work nature.

The biggest fear shared by people in companies going in for ERP implementation is the loss of their jobs. As soon as the decision about the ERP implementation is announced rumours about the new system automating all the tasks and making people redundant will start floating around. When a company talks about ERP and automation, the immediate reaction is that computers will replace people.

But what most people fail to hear is that the people who are doing manual jobs before computerization were able to get better jobs with higher salaries once they got trained in ERP system. So if a employee is trained with ERP system and willing to learn the new system and new way of doing business, then he or she does not have anything to fear. They will also have very good chance of getting better jobs with higher salaries.

Another fear that must be addressed is people’s fear of failure – the fear of not understanding or being able to work within an automated environment. Many companies make the serious mistake of not insisting on a very thorough ERP training program that will insure the employees have the knowledge and a confidence level of adapting and using the new ERP system to the maximum benefit of the company.

Some employers view ERP training as an expensive exercise and by not sending the employees to the training session save some money. Beware of that claim and the firms are bound to face huge loss due to improper usage of an ERP system and on the contrary depriving ERP training to the staff could bring big loss to the firm in the long run.

Starting from manual bookkeeping, accounting has covered a long way and today, with the advancement of software technology accounting filed is also not behind in the race. Known to be invaluable resource for every modern business, accounting software has changed the way of working style. Fast work with utmost accuracy and reliability are some of the factors that make software account a part for every business where management of accounts is one of the top priorities.

Accounting software is a boon for every bookkeeper and accountant as it works as a highly reliable computer program that not only provides different functionality of accounting which may differ from product to product. Firms that are larger in size in terms of business and services may choose to implement a customized solution which integrates a vast amount of data from many different departments. Smaller firms with less or limited scope of services often choose an off the shelf product.

Like any other software, accounting software should be purchased after analyzing its performance. There are many companies that provide software accounts of various types that suit to variety of businesses. Accounting software that is specifically designed for a particular industry will generally offer more custom features. However, the flip side is that these accounting software packages are often more expensive due to their highly specialize applications. For a large scale company relating to a particular industry sector that requires specific accounting practices will usually be well worth the higher price tag. On the other hand, for a small scale company can find everything generic financial software package.

Let’s take a tour of some important points that one should keep in mind while buying accounting software:

Nature and size of a business: It clearly shows that factors including nature and size of business impact the selection of accounting software. Today various accounting software are available in the market with different components and modules. When it comes to choose accounts software it is always advisable to know which module or component are out there and will benefit the company. If one has such evaluation capability, he will be able to quickly eliminate several applications because these software either offer too many extras or do not have all the functionalities that one needs.

Avoid cheap software: Never compromise the quality of accounting software. Cheap and pirated software are available everywhere, you should be aware of the fact that using a cheap one will definitely harm to your business, no matter less or more but it is sure that it will happen. These cheap accounts software are easily available in a very less price but they costs much when you suddenly find that your whole data crashed and could not be recovered back. So choose wisely.

Look to your Budget: Budget is one of the important factors but it does not mean that you should go for cheap one. It is advisable not to go for false and misleading advertisements claiming to offer low price accounting software. Furthermore cheap software does not provide after sales support. It is also keep in mind that most expensive accounts software also do not provide enough satisfaction. It is not always necessary that they will be the highly satisfactory one. It is extremely important to look in to what kind of support is available for the package once you’ve implemented it and what the additional support will cost. Cheap software is no good if it constantly messes up and you have to pay to get it back on track. Also important to look at is the training available for your staff that will teach them to properly use the software and hopefully prevent many of these problems.

Know your product first: Do you know your accounting software, you are going to buy? Just read reviews, ask from your friends who are already using them and take suggestions from experts.

Conclusion: Whether you are an accountant, small or large business organization accounts software has become an unavoidable part of your daily work. Don’t compromises the quality, no misleading ads, just look what you need and get the good one which suits your requirements.

What Is The Difference Between ERP And Enterprise System

June 15th, 2011

0
Enterprise system and Enterprise Resource Planning System terms are similar but there is difference between an enterprise system and an ERP system. An ES or enterprise system is a large scale system which includes packages like ERP and CRM. ERP is a subset of Enterprise System or it can be said that ES is a superset of ERP. It contains a variety of solutions. ES contains applications and packaged solutions which can be directly used in an enterprise. On the other hand ERP system is the automation of the business processes and the solutions are in the form of modules which are designed according to the client’s requirements.

The functions are customized according to the client’s business environment. Enterprise system does not include architecture of other solutions whereas an ERP implementation automates systems using technical aspects. ERP system includes architectures and databases and is client server architecture. The system is server based therefore the consultant needs to be aware of the technical aspect too.

Another difference between an ES and an ERP system is that the ERP is aimed at improving the functionalities of the organization whereas the ES helps to improve the overall maintenance and accuracy. It provides for better solutions and aids in decision making. ES is difficult to implement compared to Enterprise resource planning and even the timeframe needed for implementation maybe more. The overall impact is high but so are the risks involved. If the ES is not implemented in the right manner, it can cause business failure and if implemented properly it can increase the efficiency and profits of the business organization. It is normally required when there is a big drawback in the current procedures and methodologies in the organization and need to be corrected. The company going in for enterprise system needs to be careful while choosing the software and the vendors due to the risk of failure involved.

The difference between an enterprise system and an ERP system is that ERP is mostly used for medium scale companies to big companies and ES is restricted to the big companies. There are many complex functions involved in big companies which cannot be provided solutions for alone by ERP. The role of ERP is restricted when compared to enterprise system because it does not include customer relationship or vendor management.

These applications are needed when the business process is complex and on a big scale. Therefore bigger organizations need to go with ES instead of enterprise resource planning alone. ERP is also an important system to streamline the internal processes but it does not provide for taking care of the external processes. Enterprise system takes care of the end to end business process of organization since it involves other applications also like SCM and CRM. There is quite a lot of difference between an enterprise system and an ERP and it depends on the company whether it wants to go with an ES to streamline the entire process starting from supplying, production and customer or whether he wants to go with an ERP system to streamline the internal process.

Strategies For Successful ERP Change Management

June 15th, 2011

0
Enterprise Resource Planning implementation is more about the processes and people than it is about the technology. One needs to develop and sustain long term organizational changes to obtain improvement in business. A successful ERP change management will involve proactively dealing with the resistance from the potential users of the new ERP system. It aids in deciding the future of the company as more than the implementation, it is the management of change that has taken place which is important for the future.

An ERP system brings about a major change in the business process after it has been implemented and it is therefore essential to manage this change well to realize the ROI. One of the common problems faced with the ERP implementation is the resistance from the employees. Many people oppose to use the new system and are not willing to learn the functions readily. Also ERP may result in cutting down of jobs by increasing the productivity of lesser number of people which brings about resistance from the employees. Successful ERP Change management involves managing the employees in a proper manner.

With the implementation of an ERP, there is a change in the way things function and the employees will be required to work in a transparent environment and interact with the people from the other departments. They should learn how to work in a team together by enhancing the relationship with the other team members. ERP system leads to an integrated working environment. This might lead to a change in the attitude of the employees and so proper management is required.

For a successful ERP change management, the top management may need to employ coordinators to help the employees adapt to the new system quickly. To realize the ROI, the adaptation should be done soon and the communication process should be more effective. Seminars and meetings should be conducted to get the employees familiar with the new system and the new working environment. To make a successful change management, the management should give this transition period enough time for the employees to adapt to the change.

A successful ERP change management is essentially to do with people management as the employees need to be educated on the objectives of the implementation of the ERP system. This subject needs to be approached in a proper manner for proper results. To obtain the benefits of the ERP system and avoid failure of the system, the use of a successful ERP change management is necessary. If the strategy and technique is right, the success rate will be higher. Organizational strategies include change management, communication, staff management and others.

The Technical strategies include software installation and others. The change management is a strategy to invite the changes in the company to maximize the benefits and reduce the risks of the implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning system. Apart from proper communication and coordination, training and education of the staff is also essential. Therefore for a proper utilization of the ERP software, a successful ERP change management is necessary.

Latest Trends In ERP Market

June 15th, 2011

0

ERP enables smooth flow of information between the functional departments in the organization. The strengths of an ERP are security, high integrity, scalability, controlling, tracking and monitoring. ERP system has evolved from earlier times and it continues to evolve and address new topics in the market. The latest trends in ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning are many. It calls for constant upgrades and modifications to keep up with the times. Some of the issues to be dealt with in the latest trends in ERP are as follows:

1. Expenditure: Implementation of the ERP system requires quite some expenditure. The organization should be able to invest heavily to implement ERP due to which it keeps the medium and small scale companies away. One of the latest trends in ERP will be to reduce this cost to the minimum level so as to able the medium or small sized companies to invest in ERP implementation. These companies can also realize the benefits of ERP if they are able to afford the implementation process.

2. Time Duration: The time period required for the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system is fairly long as it can take anywhere from six months to two years to complete. The latest trend in ERP is to reduce this time taken for the implementation process. This will reduce the man hours lost during the implementation phase and attract more companies to implement the ERP.

3. Need based Application: The companies are looking for more of the need based applications instead of having to buy the entire ERP software package. As some of the applications provided are not useful to the company, they are looking for purchasing only the applications needed.

4. Latest Technologies: Web enabled technology aids in making the enterprise operations to go online. One can access the needed data from any part of the world and easily. This latest trend in ERP makes it more efficient. Wireless ERP has made it possible to share the data through internet and other devices making it easy for people to access it. Open Source ERP aids in doing away with the problem of paying the license fees during installation and during every modification process.

These latest trends in ERP are to increase the scope of ERP to small and medium scale companies instead of limiting to the large scale companies only. These trends have to be incorporated by the ERP vendors to improve their services. The modernization of Enterprise Resource Planning software has to make it more user friendly. The software professionals are looking to bring about these changes as per the latest trends in ERP. The ERP needs to provide a complete solution to the organization to achieve their high goals. ERP needs to undergo modifications and upgrades as per the future trend to increase its demand in the market. These trends will help small companies and medium companies to implement the ERP system and the demand will continue to increase for the Enterprise Resource Planning
